Our Story

Started in 2021 off the back of Covid closures, Vanessa and Amy needed a place to showcase their talents as their catering business suffered. From this came Vanilla @ Altenburg and a place to relax and unwind while enjoying the better things in life amongst the gardens and art of the Altenburg Gallery. Serving coffee from Guerrilla Roasters and an array of in house baked goodies. The all day menu reflects not only Vanessa passion for food but is something different to the usual cafe fare.

Food inspired from around the globe you’ll find the Arabic Bowl or Wok bowl with Corned Beef sandwiches. Hearty soups to toasties and heaps of specials. When you enter the tranquil gardens you forget you are right in the heart of Braidwood.
